Hambleton & Richmondshire Community Safety Partnership
Hambleton and Richmondshire Community Safety Partnership (H&RCSP) is the official name of our local Community Safety Partnership. It is a statutory partnership charged with reducing crime, disorder and anti-social behaviour across the districts.
Hambleton Community Safety Partnership and Richmondshire Community Safety Partnership previously separate Community Safety Partnerships were formally merged as one partnership in June 2011, the partnerships had been working more closely on an informal basis for over a year prior to the merger.
The new Partnership structure has enabled greater efficiences for partners and more opportunities for shared projects and effective responses to crime and disorder issues covering both areas rather than one.The shared approach allows for greater flexibility to respond to a changing community safety landscape.
The Hambleton and Richmondshire Community Safety Partnership is made up of 6 compulsory partners:Hambleton and Richmondshire District Councils, North Yorkshire County Council, North Yorkshire Police, North Yorkshire Police Authority, North Yorkshire Fire & Rescue Service and North Yorkshire and York Primary Care Trust. In addition to these statutory bodies, other organisations including Hambleton and Richmondshire Community Addictions Service, Broadacres Housing Association and voluntary Sector Groups are involved in reducing crime and disorder in our Districts.
The current aim of the Partnership is to maintain and improve the quality of life for people living in the community. Partnership Plan
Under the Crime and Disorder Act Review 2006, each District (area) in England and Wales has to have in place a Partnership Plan. We have just come to the end of the 2008-2011. Our new plan has been put in place and sets out expectations of Hambleton and Richmondshire Community Safety Partnership for the next year including what will be delivered, what resources are available and how the performances will be measured. The Partnership review the plan annually as priorities can change and update on what has been delivered and achieved.
