Online payment issues

We apologise that the online payment issues we have been experiencing, caused by the new regulations introduced in March 2022 where all online card transactions have to now go through the process of 3D Secure, are still not resolved.

We are still working with our software payment provider as well as our Leisure Management System provider to try and identify the problem and get this resolved - Find out more

Final Stage of Carbon saving works

Installation of a carbon saving system at Bedale Leisure Centre is now well underway as part of the government funded PSDS (Public Sector Decarbonisation Scheme).

As part of these works, there will be no heating or hot water and the swimming pool will be closed from Friday 09 September to Friday 16 September inclusive.

There will also be a full closure of the centre for one day on Thursday 08 September.

All works will be complete, and the leisure centre will fully reopen on Saturday 17 September 2022.

This will be the final step in the carbon and energy saving works at Bedale. The running of leisure centres requires significant energy consumption, this results in high Co2 emissions, upon completion of the works, Bedale Leisure Centre will no longer use gas as a source of energy, instead 100% of the energy used at the centre will be electricity, this shift in energy supply will provide an impressive 50% carbon saving, which is really great news for the environment and the sustainability of the centre.

Further information regarding the PSDS scheme can be found in our FAQ’s here:
