Hambleton is a forward-thinking District with a high performing Planning Team and we are looking for an experienced Senior Planning Officer to join our Development Management team.

Hambleton is a rural District located between York and Teesside, with good access from the A1, A19 and the East Coast main line railway. The post will be based in Northallerton but with home working opportunities available in line with our policy.

The District is pro economic development and is looking to facilitate growth through the development of the new Local Plan which we will soon adopt.

We are looking for an experienced planning officer to join our Development Management team. Candidates must hold a Planning degree or equivalent qualification and have a broad understanding of Planning Law.

Candidates will be customer focused and have a drive to achieve sustainable development. You will be dealing with a variety of cases, but mainly medium to large housing developments and other more complex cases within the district, such as solar farm developments.

It is expected that you will provide support to the team and act for the Development Manager as necessary.
