The Magnificent Seven!

A furniture trail originally set up in the 1990s has been recreated
The Thirsk trail now takes in seven specialist woodworking businesses in and around the market town; Treske, Beaver, Coxwold, Graham Duncalf, Carthouse, Old Mill and Squirrel.
“The area is rich in cabinet making skills and has a wealth of furniture making companies with workshops and showrooms for all to see and enjoy,” Justin Bartlett, Managing Director of Treske, pictured with Councillor Peter Wilkinson, Deputy Leader of Hambleton District Council and portfolio holder for Economic Development.
“This trail is a collection of our ‘magnificent seven’ craft workshops and is one of the keys to keeping the traditions of woodworking alive in our area. It provides a focus for people to find out about commissioning their own special pieces from a furniture maker they and whose style they like. Many customers who first visited through the trail have become customers for life.
“The concentration of woodwork skills in our area is special and we need to look after it.”
The Trail is supported by Hambleton District Council’s vibrant market towns initiative.
