Civic Centre to turn pink and blue

Hambleton’s Civic Centre is to turn pink and blue this week to mark Baby Loss Awareness Week (9 - 15 October).
The District Council headquarters is celebrating the work of baby loss charities by illuminating the building - supporting a week long All Party Parliamentary Group (APPG) campaign which is highlighting the devastation of child loss.
Councillors have answered a call by the APPG which is urging building owners across the country to light them pink and blue. Working with the major Baby Loss charities, MPs and Peers founded the APPG on Baby Loss to focus on policy and improve prevention, commissioning, clinical care, and support for bereaved parents who experience natal and neonatal loss of an infant.
“Baby loss can affect anyone at any time so we are delighted to be able to support this campaign by lighting up the civic centre,” said Council Leader, Councillor Mark Robson (pictured).
“This is the first time we have turned the spotlight on the civic centre but we hope that as people pass through Northallerton they will think about the work these charities do and the devastating effect baby loss has on people’s lives.”
