Hambleton has a new district councillor

Dave Elders (pictured) - The Conservative Party Candidate - has been elected to serve on the council’s Thirsk ward.

He polled 679 votes for the seat – which became vacant following a resignation earlier this year.

He beat Stewart Barber (The Yorkshire Party) who received 108 votes and Trish Beadle (Labour Party) who received 251 votes.

The turnout was 19.41%
