Pool Party Fun

Leisure Centre’s across Hambleton put the fun back into swimming last month when they were joined by inflatable flamingos and unicorns!
More than 400 swimmers attended a special summer pool party at one of the district council run centres in Northallerton, Thirsk, Stokesley and Bedale which included party music and colour changing water.
“The turnout to our summer pool parties and the reaction to both the fun inflatables and the pool water turning purple was fantastic,” said Caroline Ancell, Swim Community Activator.
“There was a great atmosphere at all of our leisure centres with lots of families together in the water having fun. Customers were dancing along to their favourite songs and having a great time - so much so that more theme parties are being planned for later in the year.”
- Hambleton is one of 12 councils across the country working with Sport England to encourage more people to use their local swimming pool. It has four swim activators working with target groups - men over 26, families, women and girls and the older generation
