Swimtag world cup competition

Football fever took to the water in Hambleton as swimmers were set a challenge

Swimmers across all the four leisure centres in Hambleton were challenged to swim 32 lengths, each length representing a team playing in the 2018 FIFA World Cup using one of the centres Swimtag watches which keep track of how far they are swimming.

Everyone who completed the task was entered into a prize draw to win four tickets to see England play at Wembley

Rachel Parker from Northallerton was the lucky winner and said, “I am over the moon to win these tickets as I have never won anything before or been to Wembley. I am really enjoying using Swimtag and taking part in the competitions and challenges so to win these tickets is an added bonus.”

Hambleton is one of 12 councils across the country working with Sport England to encourage more people to use their local swimming pool. It has four swim activators working with target groups - men over 26, families, women and girls and the older generation.
