Hambleton District Council is proud to be part of next week’s National Fitness Day.

The day encourages the nation to celebrate the fun of fitness and physical activity across the UK and aims to inspire people to get moving while making it easy and fun to try something new.

All of the district council run leisure centres in Bedale, Northallerton, Stokesley and Thirsk and Sowerby will be giving away free Zest Discount cards on Wednesday 27 September – what will hopefully be the most active day of the year.

The cards which normally cost £5 per year, offer customers discounts on most pay as you go facilities and activities within the centres. In addition to discounts other benefits of the card include eight day advance bookings, access to the online booking system, discount on equipment hire and information about special events.

The leisure centres are also encouraging people to get involved in the National Fitness Day #Fitness2Me social media campaign – set up to help breakdown the barriers that stop people being active, showing that fitness is for everyone. Customers will be invited to share their stories and views on what physical activity means to them through the leisure centre Facebook and Twitter pages.
