’HaTric’ Hambleton’s new triathlon club held its second successful event last weekend
Over 30 participants took part in the ‘Go Tri’ event which consisted of a 200m swim followed by a 2k run.
“Go Tri is a fun way to access triathlon for the first time and it was marvellous to see so many new faces as well as those that took part in the first one,” said Councillor Mrs Bridget Fortune, Portfolio Holder for Leisure who is pictured with some of the participants.
“There was a broad range of ages and abilities and they all put in a brilliant effort and enjoyed the competition despite the heat.”
HaTric are organising a series of “Go Tri” events, with the next one taking place on 17 June at Thirsk and Sowerby Leisure Centre and will be open to juniors as well as adults.
Training sessions in swimming, cycling or running take place at Thirsk and Sowerby Leisure Centre which have been purposely designed for beginners with manageable distances.
