New beginners running club in Northallerton
Published on Thursday, 22nd December 2016
Due to the success of Neon Newbies in Northalleton a second free running group starts in the new year.
Aimed at complete novices to improvers, the runs are open to everyone aged 14 or over and is led by an England Athletics qualified coach.
“You may have thought about taking up running, but don’t know where to start,” said David Earl, Hambleton District Council’s Development Officer – Health and Wellbeing.
“Or you maybe don’t want to run alone, especially in the dark. The sessions will help you get started alongside other like-minded ‘Newbies’ and guide you on your running journey - whilst having fun at the same time. Over 20 of the newbies have already progressed to the ‘Neon Nights’ community running group who run between five to six miles per run.”
The two mile runs take place every Wednesday evening from 6pm starting at Hambleton Leisure Centre, Northallerton on 4 January and will run for ten weeks.
