Hidden gems of Easingwold sought

Easingwold’s hidden heritage will be uncovered at a special event in the town next month.
Local people are being urged to search their lofts, cupboards and garages for items that will help build up a picture of the town’s history. They are being asked to bring them to a ‘Hidden Heritage’ day on April 29 where they can be photographed and catalogued by experts.
Hambleton District Council is working in partnership with a number of local community organisations to host the event and is encouraging residents of Easingwold and the surrounding villages to get involved.
“We want to reveal Easingwold’s rich history, to share some of its fascinating stories and to raise to awareness of the town’s cultural and historical significance” said Cllr Nigel Knapton
Local people are asked to bring their items to the Galtres Centre from 10am until midday to be catalogued and photographed. The items will be put on public display between 1pm and 4pm.
If you would like more information about the event or would like to get involved please contact Peter Cole, Hambleton District Council’s Vibrant Market Town Project Officer, on 01609 767223 or at peter.cole@northyorks.gov.uk
