Last green bin collection this year

Green Waste bin

Hambleton residents who subscribe to the fortnightly garden waste collection service have just one collection left this year.

The last collections take place either the week commencing 21 or 28 November - depending on when your collection week falls. Garden waste is suspended during the winter months, with the regular service resuming in mid-February.

There will however be one collection in January to take Christmas trees from subscribing residents. Trees must be chopped up and placed inside the green bin - trees left at the side of bins or protruding from bins will not be collected. This collection will take place either week commencing 9 or 16 January, depending on your collection week – normal garden waste is also accepted at this collection.

Collection dates can be checked on hambleton.gov.uk, Facebook: Hambleton recycling & waste or Twitter: @recycleHDC.

  • Non subscribing residents can dispose of their trees at the Household Waste Recycling Centres at Sandholme Lane, Sowerby; Yafforth Road, Northallerton; Leeming Bar Industrial Estate; Stokesley Industrial Estate and Tholthorpe. The sites are open from 8.30am until 4pm. They are closed on 25, 26 December and 1 January and every Wednesday.
