Electoral digital canvas how residents might be contacted

Hambleton’s digital Annual Canvass campaign starts tomorrow (Friday 15 July).

Residents who have provided an email address will receive  an email from Elecreg@hambleton.gov.uk asking them to follow the link www.householdresponse.com/hambleton and complete the online form, this is not spam or phishing.

For households who don’t respond or don’t have an email address they will receive a letter addressed to “the occupier” in the post next month. 

Dr Justin Ives, Hambleton’s Electoral Registration Officer said: “It’s important that residents look out for communication from Electoral Services and respond where required to ensure the electoral register is complete and accurate, including any 16–17-year-olds.

“Households can also add an email address when completing the form so that the election team can communicate electronically next year.”

  • If you receive a call from the council’s electoral services - it will be from one of three numbers: 01069 767130, 767263 and 767227.
  • If you are in any doubt about whether the email or call is genuine please contact the Council on 01609 779977.
  • By law, we must contact every residential address each year. This provides us with updated information about who is living at each address (including any 16 or 17 year olds). This information is then used to invite unregistered residents to register to vote, and to remove names of electors who are no longer living at the address.
