Last chairman

Hambleton District Council has elected its last ever Council Chairman.

Councillor Andy Wake (pictured left) has taken over as civic leader of the authority until 31 March 2023 when this council comes to an end and the new Council for North Yorkshire begins.

Councillor Wake has been a district councillor since May 2011, representing Stokesley Ward. He will be accompanied by Ms Sallie Weighell and has chosen to support the Aortic Dissection Charitable Trust during his time in office.

Councillor Mrs Bridget Fortune, ward member for Hutton Rudby, is the new vice chairman.

  • Outgoing Chairman, Councillor Michael Barningham, has handed over £490 to the Yorkshire Air Ambulance, his chosen charity from his term in office.
