Last stage of Local Plan
The last stage of consultation on a plan that will guide all future development in Hambleton gets underway tomorrow (Sept 28).
Once adopted the District Council’s new Local Plan will set out land needed to accommodate new homes and jobs up to 2036. It considers the need for them alongside that for associated infrastructure - shops, community facilities, transport, open space, sport and recreation, health and education - while protecting what is special about Hambleton. The Plan also aims to protect and enhance the countryside, historic buildings and the unique character of the market towns and villages.
The Planning inspectors currently examining the plan have decided that modifications are needed before they can submit their final report – and it is on those modifications that people are being consulted.
