Easingwold TIC is Good To Go

The Tourist Information Centre (TIC) in Easingwold is the first TIC in the district to be awarded Visit Britain’s ‘We’re Good to Go’ mark after complying with all the processes needed to be COVID safe
Leader of Hambleton District Council, Cllr Mark Robson said: “Not only is Easingwold TIC the first in the district, but is also one of the first in Yorkshire to be accredited with this award. Tourism at a local level is really important for Hambleton as we start to recover from COVID-19. It is one of the key elements of our evolving economic recovery plan. It’s great to see some of our key tourism venues gaining this mark.”
Kate Buckby, TIC manager and Chair of Wold Class Business Network added: “The centre which has recently re-opened after undergoing a full refurbishment, is already seeing an increase in visitors aswell as in the town itself. We pride ourselves on providing a useful service to visitors encouraging them to explore the local area and use businesses in the town. We are proud to have been awarded the ‘We’re Good to Go’ mark after all our hard work to get the centre up and running again and complying with requirements.”
Local cafes and coffee shops in Easingwold are also reporting a welcome boost in visitor numbers since lockdown was eased. They are extending their opening hours to meet the increased demand and bringing back staff from furlough.
- The ‘We’re Good To Go’ industry standard and supporting mark means businesses across the sector can demonstrate they are adhering to the respective Government and public health guidance, have carried out a COVID-19 risk assessment and check they have the required processes in place. The scheme is free to join and open to all businesses across the sector.
- The World of James Herriot in Thirsk received the same award last month.
