Don't lose your voice - make sure you can vote
Published on Monday, 13th July 2020
Hambletons annual canvass has begun and local residents are being warned not to lose their voice on decisions that affect them by making sure their electoral registration details are up to date.
Households are urged to look out for their voter registration details from Hambleton District Council.
Contact will be made over the next few months with every household to make sure the information the council holds about residents on the electoral register is correct.
Dr Justin Ives, Electoral Registration Officer at Hambleton District Council said: “This year’s canvass, which we have to carry out by law, will be taking place during the current COVID-19 pandemic. Where we hold contact details we will be contacting residents by email and phone as well as by post. We are working to ensure that we take account of public health guidelines, including the continued importance of social distancing. We encourage you to reply electronically if possible.”
- If you receive a call from the council’s electoral services - it will be from one of three numbers: 01069 767130, 767263 and 767227. If you are in any doubt about whether the call is genuine or not please call the number back.
- If you receive an email it will be from [email protected]
