Delivery of poll cards for May election

Civic Centre

Poll cards are being delivered this week to all registered electors for the May elections.

The district goes to the polls on May 6 for the North Yorkshire Police, Fire and Crime Commissioner.    There is also a by election for Northallerton Town Council’s central ward taking place at the same time.

Poll cards are being sent out as a letter this year to enable information to be provided on what to expect at a polling station and how they will be covid safe.  Voters are asked to pay particular attention to the location of the polling station as due to the current pandemic some venues have temporarily changed.

Anyone still needing to register to vote can do so at gov.uk/register-to-vote, with the deadline to register for this election midnight on Monday 19 April.

If you wish to apply to vote by post or proxy visit www.hambleton.gov.uk for further information and to download an application form.  The deadline to apply for a postal vote is 5pm on Tuesday 20 April , and the deadline to apply for a proxy vote 5pm on Tuesday 27 April.

Information on candidates standing for election in the North Yorkshire area will be available from Friday 9 April at www.choosemypcc.org.uk  or by calling 0808 196 2170.
