Hambleton's leisure centres now closed
Published on Thursday, 19th March 2020
As a matter of public health Hambleton District Council has taken the decision to close all of its leisure centres to the public.
These closures include the centres in Bedale, Northallerton, Stokesley and Thirsk & Sowerby as well as the artificial turf pitch at Thirsk School.
The facilities are closed from today (Thursday 19 March) . These closures will remain in place for the foreseeable future. The council will then give full consideration to government guidance with regards to when it will be appropriate for us to reopen but clearly the health and safety of all our customers, visitors and employees has to come first.
We appreciate that our customers will have questions for us that, at present, we do not have answers for and we would therefore politely request some time to consider these matters. We will then provide a list of FAQ’s to help address your queries.
We will also make sure that none of our customers are financially disadvantaged by our leisure centre closures. This will include suspending Direct Debit membership payments and ensuring customers are not ‘out of pocket’ as a result of our actions. We ask you not to cancel your Direct Debit as this will prevent future access when we re-open; we will take care of this.
We are working on our online content to ensure that we can keep you up to date as things progress, however please visit www.hambleton.gov.uk/zest for further information and updates.
Thank you for now – we look forward to seeing you again in the future.
