TLC for TIC in Northallerton
Published on Tuesday, 17th March 2020
A centre which provides information to both visitors and residents has been spruced up ready for the 2020 tourist season.
Northallerton's Tourist Information Centre (TIC) has improved the display of literature inside the building which is based in the Applegarth Car Park with the help of a grant from Hambleton District Council’s Vibrant Market Town budget. New signage has also been added to the exterior of the building along with brightly-coloured bollard covers.
The centre receives over 5000 enquiries per year – 70% from tourists and 30% from residents and therefore needs to look its best and have well stocked attractive displays.
Councillor Peter Wilkinson, Deputy Leader of Hambleton District Council and portfolio holder for Economic Development said, “It’s great to see the Vibrant Market Towns Team supporting projects that will bring more visitors to our market towns.”
The TIC is currently open Wednesdays and Saturdays 10am – 1pm throughout the winter months and hopefully from 23 March will revert to its summer opening times: Monday to Friday 10am – 4pm and Saturday 10am – 1pm.
