Hambleton District Council’s Planning Committee has today given the final go-ahead for the new North Northallerton Link Road Bridge.
Members of the Committee approved the design details, including the technical elements and the overall appearance of the bridge, which is to be a three-span structure.
The bridge, over the Middlesbrough line railway, is a key element of the North Northallerton Masterplan and the building of the bridge is scheduled to start by the end of March, with completion by the end of October 2020.
Cllr. Peter Bardon (Chairman of the Planning Committee) said:
“The road bridge is an important feature of the North Northallerton Development site and a key element of the infrastructure necessary to deliver the ambitions set out in the North Northallerton Masterplan.”
Cllr Mark Robson (Council Leader) said:
“With the new homes developments in Darlington Road, a new school and a new sports village all moving forward at a pace, we are delighted that the bridge will be started and completed by this autumn, as it is a key part of the North Northallerton development. I’ve been as impatient as anyone to see this built and it’s a great start to 2020 that it’s now all systems go.“
