Consultation on Order to prevent overnight lorry parking
Published on Wednesday, 16th October 2019
A review of an order to prevent drivers parking up overnight at Leeming Bar Industrial Estate is underway.
Hambleton District Council is seeking views on the Public Space Protection Order (PSPO) put in place in May this year, as part of a promised six month review of the order.
The PSPO was put in place following continued concerns from residents and businesses regarding repeated and prolonged anti-social behaviour which was having a detrimental effect on their quality of life.
And despite efforts made by the Council to inform drivers using the area of the prohibition on sleeping in their vehicles - and the anti-social behaviour associated with this - there has been continued use of the area, albeit at a reduced rate.
Now the Council wants to hear from people who live, regularly visit or work in the vicinity of the Industrial Estate to find out their views on the Order, how effective it has been and their comments on a proposed variation.
