Fitness at your fingertips

Users of Hambleton District Council’s four leisure centres now have fitness information available at their fingertips.
The local authority has developed and launched a new mobile phone app as part of the council’s priorities to enhance the health and wellbeing of the local community.
The ‘Zest’ leisure app is free to download and offers users the ability to view timetables and make easy online and class activity bookings. Through the app, there is the chance to see how many spaces are left in each class when booking.
To keep motivation high as people aim to reach their fitness goals, the app syncs with wearable tech and fitness apps which can measure your progress. If you also opt in to notifications, the app will inform you of important announcements, good news stories, individual challenges and the latest offers. Plus enhanced rewards are available to existing members for recommending membership to friends through the app.
Councillor Mrs Bridget Fortune, Portfolio Holder for Leisure said “We wanted to provide existing and prospective leisure centre users with a platform that enhances the customer service experience whilst utilising technology. Users can now get the best from Zest on the go with our Zest leisure app as it is so easy to use. So far we have received very positive feedback.”
And Philip Craig, a user of Northallerton Leisure Centre, added “I love the new zest app and how easy it is to book on classes, I can access everything on the app.”
Since its launch on 22 July 2019 the app has already had almost a 1000 downloads and is available on both iPhone and Android devices from the App store or Google Play store. Search Zest@hambleton
