UCI merchandise now available

With just two months to go until the UCI Road World cycling championships comes to Northallerton, merchandise is now on sale and residents and visitors are invited to get kitted out!

Hambleton will be in the spotlight when the men elite time trial sets off from Northallerton High Street on Wednesday 25 September with cyclists travelling through Romanby, Morton on Swale, Aiskew and Bedale on their way to a finish in Harrogate. They come back through the district on Saturday and Sunday 28 and 29 September – taking in West Tanfield on both days.

“The UCI items are already creating a talking point and customers love the bright colours” said Steve Cowley of Cowley Cycles, stockists of the merchandise.

“This is an amazing coup for Northallerton and we urge everyone to do everything they can to increase the profile of the district.”

Councillor Peter R Wilkinson, Deputy Leader and Portfolio Holder for Economic Development added, “We want local people and visitors to enjoy the event and support local businesses.

“Getting kitted out in the branded t-shirt or wearing your adopted countries colours on the day is all part of the fun of this world class event. We are working with the business community and Northallerton Business Improvement District to make it memorable for all.”

Anyone wanting to buy merchandise now can pop in to Cowley’s on Zetland Street where stock will be available right up to 25 September when the Time Trial starts.
