Business leaders packed into Northallerton town hall last night (Monday July 8) to hear more about the visit of the world cycling championships in September.
Now organisers hope for a similar turnout for the evening roadshow in Bedale on Thursday (July 11).
The roadshows - delivered by race hosts Yorkshire 2019 together with Hambleton District Council - aim to help communities decide on their celebrations to mark the event. The Northallerton event was organized by the town’s BID team and focused on how businesses can get involved and dress the town rainbow colours.
Millions of people are expected to turn out for the UCI Road World Championships which come to North Yorkshire for nine days of racing from September 21 to 29 - including the Y2019 Para-Cycling International event.
Hambleton will be in the spotlight when the men’s elite time trials sets off from Northallerton High Street on Wednesday September 25 with cyclists travelling through Romanby, Morton on Swale, Aiskew and Bedale on their way to a finish in Harrogate. They come back through the district on Saturday and Sunday September 28 and 29 – taking in West Tanfield both days.
The Bedale roadshow takes place onThursday July 11 at 6pm in Bedale Hall – to book tickets follow this link:
