Hambleton District Council has been recognised for its on going work to be dementia friendly.
It has been awarded a Dementia Friendly Charter by the recently rebranded Dementia Friendly Hambleton (formally known as Hambleton Dementia Action Alliance). It was awarded its certificate at a special event for organisations in Hambleton who are or are working to becoming dementia friendly.
The council was officially branded dementia friendly four years ago – and remains committed to helping and supporting people living with dementia and their carers. It has trained more than 200 members of staff, and ensured all four of its swimming pools are dementia friendly and all of its buildings are classed as ‘safe places’.
Dementia Friendly Hambleton can arrange training for anyone - employees, businesses, boards, club members - who would find it helpful to understand dementia better. More information can be obtained from Janet Crampton - Chairman of Dementia Friendly Hambleton at firstname.lastname@example.org or on 07540 503030 who presented Chairman of Hambleton District Council, Cllr Kevin Hardisty withg the councils Charter.
