UCI 250 days to go

Residents and businesses across Hambleton are being invited to two roadshows as the district gears up for the visit of the world cycling championships in September.

Venues in Northallerton and Bedale will play host to the evening roadshows which will help communities decide on their celebrations to mark the event.

Millions of people are expected to turn out for the UCI Road World Championships which come to North Yorkshire for nine days of racing from September 21 to 29 - including the Y2019 Para-Cycling International event.

Hambleton will be in the spotlight when the men’s elite time trials sets off from Northallerton High Street on Wednesday September 25 with cyclists travelling through Romanby, Morton on Swale, Aiskew and Bedale on their way to a finish in Harrogate.   They come back through the district on Saturday and Sunday September 28 and 29 – taking in West Tanfield both days.

The roadshows are being delivered by race hosts Yorkshire 2019 together with Hambleton District Council and will include presentations of the routes and information on how local communities can get involved.

They take place on Thursday June 13 at 6pm in The Forum, Northallerton and on Thursday July 11 at 6pm in Bedale Hall – to book tickets follow these links:
