‘Taking action in a changing climate’ is to come under the spotlight next week.

It will be the main topic of conversation at the Stokesley and Villages Community Partnership’s Annual General Meeting on Wednesday 5 June.

“The changing climate is affecting us all,” said Caryn Loftus, Director, Moor Sustainable CIC.

“It is great that there are already activities within the Stokesley and Villages Community Partnership Plan which are helping to reduce carbon emissions or helping our local community adapt as our climate changes whilst also improving biodiversity, health and wellbeing.  I am looking forward to the AGM where we will have the chance to hear about local initiatives making a contribution and discuss how we can plan for further and more extensive action given the limited time we have to act."

“I have been Chair of the Group since 2009 and since then the Partnership has played a key role in identifying and supporting those projects that make a real difference to the quality of life of our residents,” said Councillor Mrs Bridget Fortune.

“The AGM provides an excellent opportunity to celebrate the efforts of those involved.”

All residents from across Stokesley and the surrounding villages are welcome to attend the meeting at Stokesley & District Community Care Association at Town Close, Stokesley at 7.30pm.
