The Council takes its responsibility for safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and has adopted a Safeguarding Policy and Procedure.
If you have a concern for a child, contact North Yorkshire County Council's customer services unit.
Early education and childcare
Get support, advice, out of school childcare, early education and help with childcare costs at the North Yorkshire County Council website.
As part of divorce proceedings, arrangements for children concerning where they will live, their day to day care, their health, education and how often the other parent will see the child are all settled by the Children and Family Court Advisory and Support Service (CAFCASS).
The North Yorkshire Safeguarding Children Board's website brings together information for children and young people, information for families and information for anyone who works with children and their families.
For help with carers and those they care for, information is available at the Hambleton and Richmond Carers Centre website.
Every family with children up to the age of five, and parents-to-be, can take part in activities, meet people and make friends at any of the county's 37 Children's centres.
