Inclusive sport

Primetime is an initiative that uses sport to reduce isolation in rural areas.

The sessions are for any age or ability but particularly those looking for social interaction. You can take part in Boccia, a game similar to bowls, and New Age Kurling, which is like the Kurling you see played on ice but using stones with ball-bearings so it can be played in your village hall. Cost per session is £2.00.

The four schemes that are up and running are:

Stillington - Mondays - 1:30pm - 3:30pm at Stillington Sports and Social Club - YO61 1LJ

Topcliffe - Tuesdays - 1:30pm - 3:30pm at Topcliffe Village Hall - YO7 3RJ

Husthwaite - Fridays - 10:00am - 12 noon at Husthwaite Village Hall - YO61 4PX

Stokesley - Fridays 1:30pm - 3:30pm at Town Close, Stokesley - TS9 5DH

Primetime was initially funded through North Yorkshire County Council’s ‘Innovation Fund’. It is operated by Hambleton District Council and North Yorkshire Sport. If you would be interested in helping to set up a Primetime initiative in your village please get in touch.
