In April 2007 the Council adopted its first Development Plan Document (DPD) as part of the Local Development Framework (LDF). The Core Strategy DPD sets out the long term spatial vision for Hambleton; to become sustainable, prosperous, safe, healthy and vibrant.
It plays a key part in the delivery of the Council's Community Plan. It expresses those parts of the Community Plan which relate to the development and use of land and outlines the Council's strategy for delivering strategic development needs, including housing and employment.
The Core Strategy was approved after extensive community consultation followed by a public examination. The independent Planning Inspector who approved the DPD was satisfied that the Core Strategy complies with the Planning Act and Regulations. His binding report was received in February 2007 and is available to view from the background document list below.
