Venues required by law to record contact details
The government announced on 10 September 2020 that premises and venues across England must have a system in place to record contact details of their customers, visitors and staff in the latest move to break the chains of transmission of coronavirus.
Hambleton businesses can now apply for a licence that allows you to place removable chairs and tables in the outdoor area next to your business so that food and drinks can be served outside.

Financial assistance for businesses
The government has issued guidance and criteria on the payment of cash grants for eligible businesses. You can see these here:
Hambleton District Council has administered some of the Government's financial assistance for eligible businesses in the district, this is now coming to a close on the 28 August 2020. Details on further support can be found at the page linked below:
The Apprenticeship Service (AS) has been open to claim incentive payments for hiring a new apprentice from 1st September.
Employers can make a claim once there is a contract of employment and apprenticeship agreement in place.
It takes less than 15 minutes to complete the process on AS. Employers then submit further financial information.
Payments are made about 4-6 weeks after the eligible date to allow for data and evidence checks. The final payments will be in January 2021.
Online resources for businesses and employers
The government is scaling up its business support helpline in light of the current situation. As a business owner you can speak directly to an advisor. The number to call is 0300 456 3565.
HMRC has launched a tax helpline to help your business if you are concerned about paying any taxes due and Companies House has produced guidance if coronavirus means you need more time to file your accounts.
The situation is kept under constant review and any change in guidance will be based on scientific evidence. The Governments approach is clinically led, based on the expert advice of the UK’s Chief Medical Officer for England, the NHS and Public Health England.
