Energy efficiency schemes

There are many schemes, services and grants available to keep your home warm and save you money. Some are operated by Hambleton District Council and some are operated by partner organisations.

Energy Company Obligation (ECO)

The Energy Company Obligation (ECO) is a government energy efficiency scheme in Great Britain to tackle fuel poverty and help reduce carbon emissions.

Help to Heat (HHCRO)

Home Hearing Cost Reduction Obligation (HHCRO) is government-run scheme that requires energy suppliers to install energy-saving measures in your home (such as insulation).

To be eligible you must be receiving specific benefits and/or a Warm Homes Discount.

You must apply for it yourself through an accredited supplier. Find out more here:

Local Authority Flexible Eligibility

A government-run scheme that requires energy suppliers to install energy-saving measures in your home (such as insulation).

If you are not eligible for Help to Heat, you may be eligible for this scheme.

Warm Up Hambleton

A partner-run scheme to help provide access to the Help to Heat and Local Authority Flexible Eligibility schemes

To be eligible you must be receiving specific benefits, but flexible eligibility is also available.

Other schemes

Warm Homes Fund - new gas central heating

A North Yorkshire County Council scheme to help install A-rated gas-powered central heating in your home and a connection to the gas mains if you do not already have one.

To be eligible you must be receiving specific benefits or meet certain household income criteria.

Warm Healthy Homes check

Operated by Warm And Well in North Yorkshire, a Warm Healthy Homes check provides practical solutions to staying warm and reducing fuel poverty in winter.

To be eligible you must be on a low income and have a cold-related health condition.
