Hambleton’s enforcement policies for addressing how we deal with non-compliance with legislation and how we enforce the law.

These Enforcement Policies applies to the functions of the Environmental Health and Waste and Street Scene Services in the Leisure and Environment Directorate. They detail the overall approach to enforcement in accordance with relevant legislation, statutory codes of practice and other guidance.

The functions and responsibilities of the services include the environmental protection laws -including fly tipping, littering and pollution control and enforcement of food, water, health and safety, housing standards, public health, nuisance, the prevention and control of infectious diseases. The enforcement options relating to individual regularity functions are detailed in separate schedules.

Hambleton District Council is only responsible for the cleaning of fly tipping from public land - not from private land.
