The Northallerton and Villages Community Forum (NVCF) is to host a community event at which residents of Northallerton and the surrounding villages are being invited to bring along items they hold that could be of local historical significance. These might be stored in garages, lofts, garden sheds and outbuildings and may be in danger of being lost as time goes by.
NVCF is well aware of the community interest in developing a museum or heritage resource in Northallerton and the event will provide an opportunity to illustrate the volume and range of material ‘critical mass’ of community support for such a scheme.
The event is to be held at the Forum in Northallerton on Sunday 8 September between 10am and 4pm.
How to submit
If you have any items which you believe are of historical significance to Northallerton and the surrounding villages and would like to have them assessed, catalogued and displayed at the event please complete this Expression of Interest form before the end of Friday 2 August.
If you have multiple items, you will need to submit a form for each item.
Your submission will be considered by a panel who will make a decision as to whether your item is suitable for display.
Data provided here will only be used for project purposes subject to your explicit consent. It will be stored securely during the course of the project and destroyed thereafter. It will not be shared with any third parties.
Objects loaned for the exhibition will be photographed/filmed at the event on the 8 September.
Please complete the attached form with as much information as you are able to provide. We will use this information to plan the exhibition space, create the exhibition labels and catalogue the exhibits. Please complete one Expression of Interest form per item.
Please note: we have no provision for overnight secure storage for your item.
