Latest News - February 2022
On 22 February 2022 the Council resolved to adopt the Hambleton Local Plan. The adoption documents are available:

On 19 January 2022 the Inspectors’ issued their report on the Examination of the Hambleton Local Plan. The report concluded that with the recommended modifications set out in the accompanying Appendix the Plan satisfies the requirements of Section 20(5) of the 2004 Act and meets the criteria for soundness in the Framework. The plan is therefore capable of being adopted.
Following the Local Plan Hearing Sessions in November 2020, the Planning Inspectors identified various amendments that they consider necessary to ensure the Plan is 'sound'. These are known as 'Main Modifications'. The Council prepared a schedule setting out the proposed main modifications to the local plan and policies map, which are necessary to make the plan sound. These modifications were consulted on between 28 September – Tuesday 9 November 2021. The consultation has now closed. All representations received in relation to this consultation can be found here.
Update on Gypsy and Traveller Accommodation Assessment
Hambleton Council has received a letter from the Planning Inspectors regarding the Gypsy and Traveller Accommodation Assessment (GTAA) (examination document L016) and the associated Pitch Deliverability Assessment (examination document L017). The main purpose of this letter is to assist in identifying possible ways forward with the examination when responding to the evidence set out in document L016 and L017. Any Representations received in relation to the Local Plan will be sent to the Planning Inspector. The Planning Inspectorate privacy notice provides advice about how the Planning Inspectorate will process any personal information.
