To fulfilling the Council’s statutory duty under Public Health (Control of Disease) Act 1984 Section 46 where the deceased has no insurance / relatives / friends / associates to make the arrangements.
Alternative options considered
This is a statutory duty. Hambleton District Council has a service level agreement with Hill Brothers to carryout public health funerals paid for by the Local Authority following a tendering procedure
