Licence - private hire operators
Anyone wishing to accept or invite bookings for a private hire vehicle must hold an Operators Licence issued by the District Council for the area in which the operating base is situated. The licence is issued subject to conditions regarding such matters as keeping of records and quality of service.
The grant of an operators licence does not allow the use of premises as an operating base in the absence of planning permission and contact should also be made with the Development Control Section of the Council before proceeding.
For more information or to request an application form contact the Licensing office on Tel 01609 767131 / 767079.
