Licence - private hire drivers
A licence is required before any person can drive a private hire vehicle. Licences are issued subject proof of eligibility -age, possession of driving licence, criminal records check, medical assessment etc.
The driver licence issued by Hambleton District Council also entitles the holder to drive hackney carriages. In all cases, the licence only entitles the holder to drive private hire vehicles and hackney carriages which are licensed by this Council.
For more information or to request an application form contact the Licensing office on Tel 01609 767017 / 767079.
