Conditions of Use for Bus Passes
- You must show the bus driver your pass and state your destination. The driver will check your photograph and the expiry date before allowing free travel
- The pass is not transferable and may only be used by the person whose name and photograph appear on the pass
- Your pass shows an expiry date (month and year) and you will be contacted when your pass is approaching expiry
- Your pass is valid on all registered local bus services in North Yorkshire and the City of York. Harrogate & District Community Transport accept the pass if you are registered with them. The pass is valid for free travel on the Moorsbus Network
- Your pass is valid at all times except between 6am and 9am Monday to Friday. It is valid at all times on public/bank holidays
- Your pass is valid between 6am and 9am Monday to Friday if you produce a hospital appointment card that clearly shows your name, the current date and an early appointment time
- Your pass is valid on journeys to and from places in adjacent districts using a through journey which starts or finishes within North Yorkshire or City of York
- The pass allows free travel on single and return journeys, and day tickets obtained within the scheme area
- You will NOT be able to use the bus pass to obtain a reduction in the price of excursions or trips arranged for individual groups
- Possession of a bus pass does not guarantee any person the right to a place on any particular bus, or the right to a seat on any such vehicle
- Bus passes are NOT valid on taxi, rail services or tour buses
- The North Yorkshire Concessionary Fares Partnership reserves the right to amend the terms of the travel concession scheme and to withdraw, amend or replace any pass
- You are obliged to notify Hambleton District Council of any change in circumstance that may affect your eligibility to a bus pass. You must also contact us and notify any change of address. If you move out of the Hambleton District you must return your bus pass as you are no longer entitled to a concession from Hambleton District Council.
