North Yorkshire County Council look after all aspects of Hambleton's roads and streets and undertake the repairs required to strengthen transport routes. However, the district Council do provide some related services.

Transport Services

Hambleton District Council introduced free bus travel on 1 April 2006. By working with the North Yorkshire Concessionary Fares Partnership - which brings together all the district council, county council and the City of York council - travel across the county is free.

Hambleton District Council owns and maintains in excess of 3000 Public Lighting Units situated at various locations throughout the District.

Details of alterations to the normal appearance of the carriageway or footway, which could cause potential disruption to the travelling public. This includes road and footpath closures, temporary traffic lights, diversions etc

Parking

Parking

Hambleton District Council provides and maintains 2,275 "Off-Street" parking spaces throughout the District. The majority are situated in the market towns of Northallerton, Thirsk, Bedale, Stokesley and Easingwold. A car park is also provided at the village of Great Ayton.
