Hambleton District Council is committed to improving the environment of the area, and ensuring that the district is run in as sustainable a manner as is possible.

PublicAccess allows you to view details of applications that have been submitted to the Planning Department. All the information comes directly from the Council's planning application database that is updated many times each working day.

The Development Control section handles almost all planning proposals for new land and building uses, new buildings, alterations and extensions to existing buildings and houses and advertisements. It also deals with work to hedgerows and trees covered by Tree Preservation Orders.

The old system of structure plans, local plans and supplementary planning guidance is being replaced with a new Local Development Framework, comprising Development Plan Documents and Supplementary Planning Documents.

Building Control deal with all items relating to building regulations and applications for Building Regulations approvals. The Section obtains national type and system approvals for building designs and components, provides energy ratings for new dwellings and advice on making safe dangerous buildings and structures

Hambleton District Council provides grants for various building projects including listed buildings and historic environments
