About the Parish

Osmotherley is located on slightly elevated ground just to the east of the A19, on the edge of the North York Moors National Park. It is a very popular village which grow around a village cross with many of the houses dating back to the 19th century. Then, the main activities were quarrying and the textile industry - especially linen. Osmotherley can be accessed via the western gateway of the N.Y.M.N.P. and is a haven for walkers and other outdoor pursuits. It's well served by good hotels offering a wide range of food and beverages as well as it's own speciality shops.
