Arts Promoters

The Purpose of the Scheme

To encourage Parish Councils, Village Hall Committees, Arts groups and other organisations to provide opportunities in Hambleton for people to participate in and appreciate the arts.

Eligible Events and Activities

Applications are invited for assistance towards the cost of hosting public performances, workshops, exhibitions and seminars for any of the following arts categories.

Level of Grant Aid

Each application is assessed on its own merits with a varying level of grant or guarantee against loss being offered, up to a maximum of 200.00. It is unlikely that grant assistance will be more than 50% of the total cost of the project.

Where an event has the potential to cover its own expenses a guarantee against loss is more likely to be considered.

Recent events assisted:
Bedale Art Group - Art Exhibition
Northdale Horticulture - Theatre Performance
Mowbray Singers - Concert of Choral and Organ Music
Ritz Cinema - Thirsk Film Festival

Timing of Application

Applications for grants received by the Leisure Services section are submitted to Hambleton Arts for consideration prior to the Spokesperson for Health making a final decision. Applications are taken throughout the year.
Hambleton Arts is a committee of volunteers who co-ordinate the interests of arts groups in the Hambleton district. Their aim is to encourage local communities to widen the scope of arts in rural and sparsely populated areas, as well as the market towns within the district.

How to Apply

Either email the Grant Scheme Contact: david.earl@hambleton.gov.uk or contact the Leisure Services Section at an early stage in your event planning. If appropriate, an application form will be sent for completion.
