Cyber Coach
A brand new form of aerobics class has arrived at Stokesley - and it is a first for the north!
Stokesley Leisure Centre is the first to get a 'Cyber Coach' - a revolutionary system which instead of using a 'live instructor uses a 'cyber' instructor projected onto a huge screen.
The system is not used to replace any of the current classes but will help to ensure that classes do not have to be cancelled when regular instructors are ill or away. And it will also allow the aerobics programme offered to be boosted on demand of customers, including classes for which qualified instructors are hard to find. 
The manufacturers of the system have brought in the best known instructors from around the country to create the professional classes. And the fun and interesting line up also provides a combination of around 3000 classes for leisure centre bosses to choose from.
"The large format screen makes the sessions easy to follow and very life like - so much so that many people have said they forget that the coach is actually cyber," said Stokesley Leisure Centre Assistant Manager, David Ashbridge.
"The system is so much better than home exercise DVDs - many people find the class environment very motivating. And the Cyber Coach offers all the benefits of any other aerobics class."
The system is to be used to enable the centre to improve its after school activities for young people by providing sessions such as Street Dance and Cheerleading at key times.
