The Council offers advice and assistance on a range of issues to home owners including Home Improvement Grants, accessing debt advice, Mortgage Rescue Schemes and if you wish to become a landlord.

Home Energy Conservation and Grants

We offer advice on conserving energy through a partnership with the Energy Efficiency Advice Centre Opens in a new window in York (01904 554406). We also supply low energy light bulbs and radiator panels - which reflect heat back into the room - at the Council offices in Northallerton. And we can give advice on any grants available including 'Warm Front Opens in a new window' - a scheme which provides a package of insulation and/or heating improvement measures for households in receipt of an income or disability based benefit.
