-Home improvements - renovation grants

The Private Sector Housing Assistance Policy has recently been reviewed and changes approved by Cabinet on 14 September 2010 took immediate effect.

The Policy sets out the range of financial assistance that Hambleton DC will make available, together with the eligibility criteria and the conditions that will be applied to each form of assistance. This Policy sets out the council's Policy for providing assistance under the Regulatory Reform (Housing Assistance) England and Wales) Order 2002, and applies in addition to the provision of assistance which can be made under alternative statutory powers such as the provision of mandatory Disabled Facilities Grants under the Housing Grants Construction and Regeneration Act 1996.

The Policy replaces the previous editions adopted by Cabinet on 20 May 2008

The Policy makes provision for a number of types of assistance:

Property Enhancement Loan
Energy Efficiency Grant
Home Appreciation Loan
Disabled Facility Grants
Empty Property Grant
Home Improvement Agency Services
Advice/Support and Signposting
