Council housing - rents
As a tenant it is your responsibility to ensure that your rent is paid at the agreed regular intervals as stated in your tenancy agreement.
If you think you may be eligible for assistance with your rent payment then you can receive advice prior to the tenancy commencing from the Housing Benefits Department.
If you are receiving help with your rent payments through Housing Benefit Department it is your responsibility to ensure that your claim is in place and that any documents or information required is provided to the housing benefits department.
