Finding your way around the site
On the left hand side of every page is a services list, showing the section you are in and the categories within that section. These categories can be clicked on to view information.
To assist you with moving back and forth between the pages there is a "bread crumb" trail at the top of each page - this starts with 'Home' so you can see the path you have followed to reach your destination and use it to revisit previous pages, (or you may prefer to use your web browser's back button or use the alt key + back arrow on your keyboard.)
The information in this website is divided up into 13 main sections:
Looking for information
There are three main ways that you can find information on this website:
This is the starting point of any website and a good place to begin browsing the site for information. The web address (called URL) of Hambleton District Council is www.hambleton.gov.uk and when you click on this web address, it is the homepage that will display on your screen.
Once you start to look at different parts of the site, if you want to return to the homepage, just click on the word 'Home' in the breadcrumb trail in the top left hand corner. Alternatively press alt + 1 + enter on your keyboard. More information about accessibility.
2. Search
Use the search box to type in your own word(s) and carry out a search for the word(s) on the website. The search box can be found in the top right hand corner of every page. It is best to use one or two key words rather than a long sentence. There is also an advanced search facility where you can search specific sites or information types.
The A-Z is another method for finding information on the site. It lists all services provided by Hambleton District, in alphabetical order. Simply click on the first initial letter of the service you require. For example, if you want to find information on pest control, you may choose to click on the letter 'P' for planning, or perhaps 'R' for rats.
We also have a Frequently Asked Questions section.
